Undead friends, here’s the 2011 route map!

You’ll notice that it looks much the same as the route from last year. There are a couple of important twists, however. We’ll be walking up the east side of South Main, for one. But the most important change is that bit in the middle at Beale and South Main.

In years past, the trek up South Main has fragmented and fractured the group (thanks to traffic and red lights and other issues), so that what begins as a teeming horde ends up looking more like a gathering of various clumps and groups of zombies. So, to really get the full-on invasion effect, we’re going to try something new: We’ll be briefly re-staging in the park/grassy area at Beale and South Main so that those who’ve been caught by red lights and such can catch up to the front of the group. Once we see that enough of the group has caught up to the front, we’ll give the go-ahead for the Beale Street invasion, and the massive throng of limping undead will descend on Beale Street and it will look awesome.
