Cans 4 Brainz

This is the Memphis Zombie Massacre’s fifth year, so to celebrate our longevity, we’ve decided give something back to the community that made our existence possible.

The day of the walk (May 27), we’ll be collecting non-perishable food items for the Mid-South Food Bank, a great organization that helps to feed hungry people across the region. Just bring canned food items or other non-perishables and drop them off at our collection spots in our staging area near G.E. Patterson and S. Front (near where the Memphis Farmers Market is every weekend). We’ll be there at 4 p.m. to begin collecting your donations so you don’t have to lug them around with you all night.

The Food Bank is also collecting items to help victims of the recent flooding in the region. The items will be utilized to help stock shelters being used by flood evacuees. Here’s a list of specifics you could also consider donating:

  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Diapers, wipes, hand sanitizer
  • Paper products (toilet paper, towels, tissues)
  • Food products requiring no cooking: crackers with cheese or peanut butter, protein bars, granola bars, tuna kits

If you’d rather make a monetary donation to the Food Bank, click here. All donations are on a volunteer basis and are not a stipulation for participating in the zombie walk, of course, but anything you can contribute will help our community out tremendously.

We love Memphis and we want to see it thrive. The better Memphis is, the better we are.

Spread the word by posting this flyer wherever you like:
